Before going further into this Napa post, I first want to say that none of our summer travels would have been possible if it weren't for my mom who has been more than willing to fly to our house, from Texas, to take care of Claire Bear. Claire loves it when Gigi comes and Daniel and I can relax on our vacations knowing that she is well taken care of. Thank you so much Gigi!
Ok, so picking up where I left off, after we got back to the B&B from our first wine tasting at Rubicon, we relaxed on the front porch while we waited for our limo to arrive. The weather was absolutely amazing every day of our trip. The high's were in the upper 70's to low 80's and the mornings and evenings were very cool.
Once the limo arrived we were giddy with excitement! Lisa took care of signing the contract and we were off to our second winery of the day.
But not before our driver, Ben, popped the cork on some champagne to start things off right!
CHEERS!
The first winery that Ben drove us to was called Frank Family Winery. It's a small family owned winery and the grounds were so pretty.
After tasting about five different white wines, we were under the impression that we would move on to reds. However, the guy doing our wine tasting told us that the owner of the winery wanted to see us in his office..........uh oh......did we do something wrong???
Come to find out, he had heard that we were military spouses and decided to give us a special wine tasting in his office.
He pulled wine glasses and wine bottles out of the drawers of his desk and started pouring.
After the tasting, we got a quick group picture with Mr. Frank. He sent us home with a free bottle of wine and much appreciation for our husband's service.
