Ear Tubes

Claire had ear tubes put in this morning and the surgery went well. The doctor said that she will appreciate having the tubes because he said that there was quite a bit of "gooey" stuff that drained out when he made the incision. He said that it wasn't puss so the infection was gone but he feels like we made the right decision in getting the tubes after seeing all of the fluid that was trapped in her ears.

The morning didn't start off great. We had to leave the house at 5:45 am and just as we were about to pull on post, Claire threw up. She's been a bit congested lately and she coughed up some mucus and started gagging when made her throw up. We pulled over and I cleaned her up. She seemed just fine after that and played for about an hour before the nurse came and took her to surgery. Surprisingly she didn't even cry when they took her. However, after she woke up from the anesthesia, she was not very happy at all. When they brought her to us she kept saying "Bye Bye, Bye Bye" and pointed to the door. She drank a little apple juice but then ended up throwing it all up on me. We were on our way home by 8:30 a.m. and she slept the whole way home. She's been fine but hasn't had much of an appetite. She's sleeping again now and hopefully when she wakes up she'll be back to her normal self.
