Claire's birthday festivities began with the arrival of Gigi and G-paw from Texas on the Wednesday before her birthday party. Claire was super excited to pick them up from the airport and talked their ears off the whole way home. We decided to give Claire her presents from us and from Gigi and G-paw early because we knew her birthday party would be a little hectic. Daniel and I got her some roller skates which she really liked but definitely needs practice. It was really funny to watch her try them out.
Gigi and Gpaw have gotten smart with presents now that they have five grandchildren. They give each grandkid the same present for each respective birthday. For the first birthday they gave a table and chairs set and for the second birthday they are giving tricycles. Claire loves it and I love the fact that it has handles so it's easy to push until she gets the hang of it.
Mom spent a lot of the time leading up to Claire's party doing this........

Claire loves her Gigi and she doesn't let her out of her sight while she's here.
She made these fans using a picture that my sister Juli took of Claire.
And she helped me make these table center pieces too.
Claire also got some quality time in with G-paw. Here she is making him take a nap.
Dad and Daniel also kept busy with a home improvement project as always. This time the installed an additional outlet in the garage. Here they are running wire down from the bonus room into the garage.
One of the best surprises of the weekend was a visit from our great friend (brother) Blake. He lives down in Alabama and even though Claire hasn't seen him since she was a baby, she latched on to him like she'd known him forever. Here they are playing Play-Doh. Thanks so much for coming Blake..........it meant a lot to us!

Awww Blake came! We live so close to him I really need to contact him. Can't wait to see pics of Claire's big day!!!
