Claire Turns Three!

This year, Claire had a very low key birthday party.  Because her birthday was only a couple of weeks after we moved into our new home in Alabama, we only knew a couple of other kids to invite.  Unlike last year when we had about 75 guests at her 2nd birthday, this year we had around 12.  Claire was very lucky to have all of of her grandparents (with the exception of Gpaw) come in for the occasion.  This year we decided that we would give Claire a new swing set for her birthday.  Daniel and I ordered one from Walmart.com but the shipping ended up being late and it wasn't going to arrive until after Claire's birthday party.  So, the day before the party, Gigi, Pawpaw, and I drove to Toys R Us to look for one that we could bring home with us.  We picked out a really good one and brought it home.  Daniel woke up bright and early on Saturday to start assembling the massive swing set in hopes to have it all put together by the time the party rolled around.  However, the first sentence of the instructions read "Assembly requires two people and a minimum of 14 hours to assemble!!!"  WHAT?!?!  But, Daniel and Grandpa Bob kept trucking on and they were able to get most of it assembled before the party.  It's still missing the monkey bars and the picnic seating area but those items may have to wait awhile.

Look at all of those pieces!!!

Nana helped entertain Claire while the swing set was in assembly.

Claire's friends Ava and Hedassa had so much fun playing together.

And the grown-ups enjoyed relaxing in the shade.

Claire requested a Tinker Bell party so that's what we did.

Pretty birthday girl....

After we ate, it was time to open presents.......

And then try all of the new dress-up clothes on!

Then we got to the cake.  I can't believe there are THREE candles on that cake.

Time goes by so quickly.  It seems like just yesterday we were celebrating her FIRST birthday.  Remember this.........

The rest of the evening was spent playing on the new swing set.  It was a good day!
