One of the first things on our "to-do" list after moving in was to get a garden set up in our back yard. We have a pretty large back yard and plenty of room and sunlight for a garden. However, because we are renting this house, we did not want to till up the yard for a garden. So we did the next best thing and bought a garden box from Lowes. It's a great size for the amount of planting that we wanted to do this year.
Claire was a big help this year. She had fun helping Daddy load and dump the dirt.
The heat down here in lower Alabama is no joke. Check out that sweat dripping off of Daniel's nose. He's such a hard working husband!
And this is was the finished project. We planted three tomato plants, two strawberry plants, squash, zucchini, basil and cilantro.
And here is what our plants look like today........
We are about to have a ton of tomatoes ready to pick and eat. I have fresh mozzarella in the fridge waiting for some tomatoes and basil.............can't wait!
The strawberries have been producing a couple of ripe ones every day. Claire usually picks them and eats them while we are watering.
The cherry tomatoes still have a little longer but there are going to be many!!
