Restful Weekend

We had a very uneventful weekend which was exactly what we needed. Friday, Daniel kept Claire home from daycare to have a daddy/daughter day. He took her on her first trip to Chucky Cheese and then next door to Toys R Us. He said she had a blast and I think he had just as much fun. At Toys R Us he bought her a new xylophone and a stuffed Grover doll. Daniel only has one more week off before school starts! On Saturday we went on post to the PX and the Commissary for groceries and then hit a few stores to do some shopping. Claire racked up on PJ's at Khol's and Daniel and I got some much needed new workout clothes at Hibbet Sports. I'm in the process of training for a half marathon and felt like new workout clothes might give me some added motivation. We also both got new running shoes. It's been over a year since I bought running shoes and my knees can tell. Saturday night we headed over to our friends Jenae and Steven's house for a cookout. It was so relaxing and we enjoyed hanging outside because the weather was unbelievable. The high on Saturday was 78 degrees and once the sun went down, we all needed sweatshirts and sweaters to continue to stay outside. This morning when we woke up the temperature was 54 degrees.............I can't believe it's August!!! Sunday we just hung out at home, washed cars, hung curtains in our bedroom and just relaxed. It was nice not to have anything too pressing.

On a different note, Claire's new word this week is "snack." She leaves the s off and says "nack." She also says popcorn and but says it "pop pop." Last night Daniel asked her if she wanted some popcorn and she nodded her head up and down for "yes" (also new) and said "pop pop." So much fun!!

Here are a few pictures from the weekend.

Claire's new xylophone. As you can see, she prefers to play it with her toothbrush!

Claire helping daddy wash mommy's car. As you can see she's still dry here.

Washing her toys.

Washing her hair. What a mess!
