Goodbye 2009

2009 was a great year for us for many reasons. Daniel was home the ENTIRE year and the last twelve months brought so much joy as we watched Claire accomplish so many milestones. Without repeating myself, I think my Thanksgiving post said it all. This year we have much to be thankful for.

To celebrate the end of 2009 we hosted a last minute get together at our house. Many of our friends were out of town for the holiday but for those who were able to come, it was nice to hang out and celebrate. We decided to keep it low key and picked up Papa Murphy's pizza's to cook at home along with some adult beverages.

Of our twelve adult guests, two of the couples just had babies in the last three weeks. It was so much fun to hold James and Shane. I can't remember when Claire was that little.

We didn't make it to midnight. Everyone left by ten o'clock and after Claire went to bed, Daniel and I sat on the couch and rang in the new year together (east coast time) with some champagne. Well, actually we never even opened the bottle because we were too tired but it was the thought that counts right??? We went to bed at 11:30 (central time) and had sweet dreams of a great future 2010. Happy New Year!!!
