A Fun Halloween Craft

This morning, I dropped Claire off at school and headed over to my friend Jenae's house to spend the day doing a Halloween Craft project.  We decided to make a wreath for our front door.  We had so much fun today that we decided to make Thursdays our weekly craft project day!  I'm not sure what we'll do next but this week's project turned out great.

We set up shop with our sewing machines, and went to work.  First on the agenda was to paint the foam wreath black.

While the paint was drying on the wreaths, we painted our "BOO" letters orange.

After the paint dried on the letters, we used ModPodge to add glitter to the letters.

Then it was time to start cutting the ribbon and sewing.  We picked out 10 different ribbons the day before at Hobby Lobby and cut 12, 4" pieces of each ribbon.

Then we sewed each piece to form a loop with some extra at the bottom to use as a pedestal when we glued the loops to the wreath.

After we finished sewing, the ribbon looked like this.

Then it was time to cut the pieces apart and start hot gluing them to the foam wreath.  The hot glue was no joke and we will both be scarred forever from the burns.  Wreath making is no joke! Hahahaha.

After all of the ribbon was on the wreath, we added the "BOO" letters to complete the look.

We really had a great time today and the wreath turned out great!  I can't wait for next Thursday for another project.
