We installed under cabinet lighting on Saturday and now we are asking oursleves, "why didn't we do this sooner?" It was a little time consuming and the kitchen was a complete mess, but overall it was an easy project. We bought two lighting kits at Home Depot for $44 each. They each came with six puck lights and a dimmer switch that allows you to have three different levels of lighting. Here is what they look like before installation.
Our cabinets on the L shape part of our kitchen all plugged in together and then we plugged the extension into the outlet above the microwave in order to hide the plug. On the other side of our kitchen, we linked three lights together and ran the extension down behind the refrigerator. Our initial thought was to put recievers on the two outlets that we were using in order to wirelessly turn on the lights. Our goal was not to have any visible cords. However, we were happy to discover that the dimmer not only dims the lights but also turns them on. The dimmer is mounted on the underside of the cabinet and all we have to do is tap it and the lights come on!

And here is the finished product!!!
